People who were living hand to mouth have suffered tremendously due to the situation arising from the Corona pandemic and the lockdown. While we were just recovering from the first wave, a still more serious situation arose in the second year. Added to that was the growing inflation. This created problems for the education of promising students. We started receiving calls from several students and parents. We started receiving letters from students saying that they wanted to continue education but that they had no funds. While thinking over this issue we realised that the students would be able to continue their education and stand on their feet if some financial aid could be organised for them.

To boost the outreach of education among the lesser privileged, SPCT has contributed “Shankararao Patil ‘Akshay’ Education Scheme was started with the objective of organising financial assistance for the students so that their education could continue. Under this scheme, financial aid is offered to students for taking up computer and other skill development courses, where either the father or the mother of the student has passed away or their financial position is precarious or the parents have lost jobs or where their earning activity has stopped. More than 25 students have been given financial assistance for education under this scheme till now. These students are doing courses like MS-CIT, BFSI, Tally, etc. so that they would be able to stand on their own feet.

SPCT AKSHAY SHIKSHAN YOJANA is a flagship project of SPCT, and at SPCT we take great pride in being one of the first to take up this initiative in Indapur rural area. Till now we have educated 1500 student since last four years. SPCT AKSHAY SHIKSHAN YOJANA programme provides Skill base education in very less Fees. The organisation has plans to help the students become independent by providing training in skill development courses such as garment making, beautician and make up, hairstyling, etc. With this assistance, these young people would be able to get good jobs or start own business activity. We also have plans to make work available to students through the placement portal SPCT GAJABset up by us.

In the present situation, most of the students from rural areas are facing financial problems. If they receive timely financial assistance for employment or business oriented education they would be able to stand on their own feet and complete their education as also offer financial help to their families. We have plans to offer training to more than 500 students under this scheme. In order that this socially beneficial scheme continues and the training of the students goes on, we need help in the form of donations. We appeal to you to extend whatever maximum help you can offer for this scheme.
